A Poem To Inspire.

I absolutely love this poem by Mary Oliver. It inspires me to keep taking the steps that are leading to the life I want. It inspires me to wake up each morning, even when the world is so grey and lonely. It inspires me to treasure my journey, reminding me that my dreams are important and the things I want, I truly do deserve. It helps me drown out the thoughts that others have put into my mind, that I am not enough or I am not worthy and allows me to hear my own inner voice loud and clear. This is a poem I wanted to share with you because it is so true, you can not fix anyone else's brokeness, or save them, like you so desperately want to do, the only one you can truly save is you. And you are the only one who can save you. I hope this inspires you. Kisses G

The Journey by Mary Oliver.

One day you finally knew
what you had to do, and began,
though the voices around you
kept shouting
their bad advice --
though the whole house
began to tremble
and you felt the old tug
at your ankles.
"Mend my life!"
each voice cried.
But you didn't stop.
You knew what you had to do,
though the wind pried
with its stiff fingers
at the very foundations,
though their melancholy
was terrible.
It was already late
enough, and a wild night,
and the road full of fallen
branches and stones.
But little by little,
as you left their voices behind,
the stars began to burn
through the sheets of clouds,
and there was a new voice
which you slowly
recognized as your own,
that kept you company
as you strode deeper and deeper
into the world,
determined to do
the only thing you could do --
determined to save
the only life you could save.
